$3.22 Million in Capital Credits Being Returned to Members

Unlike other electric utilities, South Plains Electric Cooperative exists to make sure your needs are always met, not to make a profit. The Cooperative works hard every day to keep your rates as low as possible. But it's sure nice to know that when there are margins (capital credits), they go back to you. That's good value for your money!

A capital credit refund of $3.22 million was approved and will be proportionately returned to every member using the Cooperative's service during the years on 1994-2007. The Cooperative has returned a grand total of more than $21 million to local members in our local communities -- not to distant stockholders!

The Cooperative will start mailing checks in August to everyone receiving $10 or more. If your portion of the capital credits is less than $10, you will receive your refund as a credit on your bill.

Only your local electric Cooperative makes every customer an owner of the business. It's just another way we are looking out for you!
